Manage store URLs and URL modes

Add each URL where you install the Reviewbird widget. Use an additional URL for a staging site, a development site, or another live domain for the same store.

Access and limits

• The organization owner, an Administrator, or a Manager can manage store URLs.
• A Moderator or Viewer cannot change store URLs.
• The widget is available on the Free plan and higher plans.
• Reviewbird does not limit the number of additional URLs.
• Each URL can contain a maximum of 255 characters.
• You can enter a host name, a subdomain, or a host name with a port. Do not enter a path.

Add a URL

1. Select the applicable store.
2. Open Settings.
3. Go to Additional URLs.
4. Enter the URL. For example, enter https://staging.example.com or http://localhost:3000.
5. Select Add URL.

Reviewbird removes http:// or https:// and a slash at the end of the URL. Reviewbird stores the host name in lowercase. A new additional URL always starts in Test mode.

• You cannot add the primary URL again.
• You cannot add the same additional URL two times.
• A valid URL contains letters, numbers, hyphens, dots, and an optional port.

Select a URL mode

Mode	Result	Use
Live	The widget loads. Reviewbird saves submitted reviews and starts the normal moderation process.	Use this mode on a production site.
Test	The widget loads and shows saved reviews. It shows the message Test Mode: Reviews are not saved. Reviewbird does not save submitted reviews.	Use this mode on a development or staging site.
Disabled	Reviewbird rejects widget API requests from this URL. The widget cannot show or accept reviews.	Use this mode when you must temporarily stop the widget.

In Test mode, the widget shows a success message after a valid review submission. Reviewbird does not create or save the review. You cannot approve or publish the review later.

To change a mode, select Live, Test, or Disabled next to the URL. Reviewbird applies the change immediately.

Remove an additional URL

1. Find the URL in Additional URLs.
2. Select Remove.
3. Confirm the action.

After you remove the URL, Reviewbird rejects widget requests from that URL.

Change the primary URL

1. Add the new URL to Additional URLs.
2. Select Change next to the primary URL, or select Make Primary next to the new URL.
3. If necessary, select the new primary URL.
4. Select Change & Reconnect.
5. Reconnect Reviewbird to the store.

The new primary URL is in Live mode. Reviewbird makes the old primary URL an additional URL in Test mode. The change disconnects Reviewbird from the store. You must reconnect Reviewbird before it can synchronize store data.
