The Google Product Ratings feed creates an XML feed that you can submit to Google Merchant Center. Google can use this feed to match your product reviews to products in your Merchant Center account.
To manage the feed, open a store and go to Reviews > Feeds.
Google Product Ratings
On the Feeds page, find Google Product Ratings. This section is labeled XML feed for Google Merchant Center.
Turn on the Google Product Ratings toggle to enable the feed.
When the feed is enabled for the first time, Reviewbird starts generating it. Large catalogs may take a few minutes. Once the feed is ready, the Feed URL appears on the page.
Using the Feed URL
The Feed URL is the URL you submit to Google Merchant Center.
Click Copy to copy the feed URL. The page also shows when the feed was last generated.
If the feed is still generating, the page shows Generating feed…. If generation fails, the page shows Feed generation failed with the error message.
Feed stats
The Google Product Ratings section shows three feed stats:
- Eligible Reviews: Reviews that can be included in the feed.
- Products with GTIN: Products that have a GTIN. Products with GTIN have the highest match rate in Google.
- Total Products: Products in your catalog.
What is included
By default, the feed includes reviews that meet the following criteria:
- Reviews must be collected through Reviewbird. (See imported reviews section below)
- Reviews must have review text to be included.
- Reviews must not be incentivized with discount/coupon code offers.
The feed includes product and review information such as the review content, rating, product name, product URL, and available product identifiers like GTIN, SKU, and brand.
Note on incentivized reviews: Reviews that were collected with a discount incentive that applies to ALL approved reviews are excluded from your feed. If you want to use discount incentives and the Google Product Ratings feed, apply your incentive to reviews that include photos and videos.
Feeds are automatically generated daily at 8:00 AM UTC.
Regenerating the feed
Click Regenerate Now to rebuild the feed manually.
You can regenerate the feed when Google Product Ratings is enabled and a feed generation is not already in progress.
Imported reviews
If your store has imported reviews, you may see an Include Imported Reviews option.
This option is off by default. Reviewbird shows a Google Policy Warning before imported reviews can be included.
Google requires Product Ratings reviews to be directly collected by a review provider. Including imported reviews may result in feed rejection or Merchant Center account issues.

Submitting the feed to Google
- Enable the Google Product Ratings feed in Reviewbird.
- Copy the Feed URL.
- Go to Google Merchant Center.
- Navigate to Growth > Product Reviews.
- Add a new Product Ratings feed using the Feed URL.
- Google will fetch updates daily.
Availability
If the Feeds page is locked, your current plan may not include Google Product Ratings. The Google Product Ratings feed requires a Plus plan or higher.
