Reviewbird for Shopify

Manage and reply to Shopify product reviews

Find, publish, hide, and feature reviews in the Shopify app. Set moderation rules and reply to customer feedback.

Open Reviewbird in Shopify admin and select Reviews. The Manage Reviews page shows customer feedback, review status, media, and moderation flags.

Find a review

Select a status tab:

  • All Reviews includes every status.
  • Pending includes reviews awaiting moderation, your decision, or confirmation from the customer.
  • Flagged includes reviews that a moderation check marked for your attention.
  • Published includes reviews that shoppers can see.
  • Hidden includes reviews that shoppers cannot see.

Use the search control to find a customer name, email address, review text, or product. Use the Rating, Product, and Featured filters to narrow the list. You can also sort by creation date or rating.

The tab counts reflect the current filters. Clear the search and filters if you cannot find a review.

Publish or hide a review

  1. Open Pending or Flagged.
  2. Read the review and inspect its moderation flags and media.
  3. Select Publish or Hide.
  4. Select Confirm.

A review marked Pending Confirmation must wait for the customer to confirm it. The individual Publish button is unavailable for these reviews. You can hide the review while you wait.

For a review that is already published or hidden, use the selection actions below.

Change multiple reviews

  1. Select the checkbox beside each review you want to change. The header checkbox selects the reviews on the current page.
  2. Select Publish Selected or Hide Selected.
  3. Check the confirmation message and select Confirm.

You can select one review to use these actions. For example, select a published review and choose Hide Selected to remove it from public displays. Select a hidden review and choose Publish Selected to publish it again.

Bulk publishing skips reviews that are already waiting for customer confirmation. An approval can also start the confirmation step when confirmation emails are enabled.

Reply to a published review

Public replies require access to the Public Replies feature. The app shows an upgrade prompt if your plan does not include it.

  1. Open Published and find the review.
  2. Select Reply to Review.
  3. Enter a reply with 10 to 1,000 characters.
  4. Select Add Reply.

Your reply appears with the review. Address the customer's feedback and leave out private information, such as their email address or order details.

Use Edit Reply to change the text, then select Update Reply. Use Delete Reply and confirm to remove it.

To notify the customer when you add a reply, open Settings > Customer Notifications > Reply Notification, enable the email, and select Save email templates. Reviewbird sends the notification when you add the first reply.

Feature reviews

Use the control in the Featured column to mark a review as featured. Use the Featured filter to find these reviews again.

Featuring a review does not publish it. A review must also be published before it can appear in a public display. In a Shopify showcase block, Featured reviews only limits the display to featured reviews. See Showcases and trust badges.

Set moderation rules

Open Settings > Moderation to control what happens when new reviews arrive.

  1. Under Auto publish reviews, choose Publish new reviews automatically or Publish reviews manually.
  2. If you choose automatic publishing, review the available rules for verified purchasers and minimum star rating.
  3. Under Who can write reviews?, choose Open to everyone (recommended) or Invite-only customers.
  4. Configure the moderation checks included with your plan.
  5. Select Save moderation settings.

Standard Moderation includes inappropriate language filtering and detection of personal information. Depending on the check, you can censor the text, flag the review for inspection, or reject it. The language severity setting applies to English; other languages use the built-in word lists.

Review Guard adds AI and media checks. The ability to customize these checks depends on your plan. Inspect flagged reviews in Reviews before you make a publishing decision.

If the app shows Auto approve: Paused, check the explanation and the current usage information in Settings > Plan. Reviews can require manual approval when the free plan's order allowance is exhausted.
